Kristin Ulrich Somich

Kristin is a labor and employment attorney who has represented employers in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Her practice covers both litigation and counseling on a wide variety of issues involving the employment relationship, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation or other violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 1981, the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), ERISA, USERRA, and other federal and state laws. In addition to her labor and employment practice, Kristin is experienced in counseling and handling a number of benefits based issues, including plan drafting, review, and analysis, ERISA, and HIPAA issues.

Prior to joining Parsons Summa, Kristin practiced with Ogletree Deakins in Cleveland, Ohio specializing in Labor and Employment counseling and litigation, as well as Benefits work, advising on ERISA issues and plan review and analysis. She also worked for Baker & Hostetler LLP in Cleveland, Ohio as a member of their Labor and Employment group. In addition, Kristin served as Adjunct Professor at the Charlotte School of Law, teaching Employment Discrimination, Civil Litigation, and Legal Writing. Kristin is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
