Lauren Grace Marie Hunstad

As an Associate Attorney, Lauren shares time between the Intellectual Property and Labor and Employment practices at Parsons Summa. Her noteworthy credentials include experience serving as a creative and effective advocate on behalf of clients seeking to protect words, symbols, and designs before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, Lauren defends clients in disputes pertaining to the employment relationship in state and federal court, as well as various state and federal administrative enforcement agencies. In the Labor and Employment practice, Lauren is involved in the litigation of virtually all aspects of the employment relationship and also provides expertise to the firm’s clients involving compliance and litigation avoidance.

A Charlotte native, Lauren holds her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served as an editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. Additionally, she earned her B.A. in History and Spanish at Wake Forest University, where she graduated cum laude. Lauren also served as captain of the Club Equestrian Team. Today she remains dedicated to competitive horseback riding.

Lauren’s experience also includes serving as Judicial Intern for The Honorable Graham C. Mullen, U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. In addition, she honed communication skills as a research assistant to Professor Maxine Eichner of University of North Carolina School of Law, and solidified her proficiencies in Employment and IP Law as a Legal Intern for the Charlotte City Attorney’s Office.
